Shoestring Mindfulness may be all we have. Can we still do good?..
Is Shoestring Mindfulness Enough To Change The World
Good morning, folks! I am Jin with Morning Mindfulness Podcast. I hope life is wonderful wherever you are! Let’s breathe and smile!
As I promised, I will share with you some of the lessons I got from carving the coin past weekend. I know, you may think that’s bizarre. All right…
Well, here’s my “masterpiece”…
I engraved the “OM” sign over a penny. And I thought, it cost me but one penny to bring something into the World, to share my passion. Well, I have to have this passion I can share, and also I have to be willing to spare a little bit of time to do it. And this what I think is the most important component.
You see, if I say I don’t have anything to share, I don’t know what to share, I don’t have time… Sorry. These are poor excuses for the real reason: I just don’t want to. I’m pointing at myself here, since I’ve done it, and also I don’t want to offend anybody. But the only real reason would be me.
I did this work on a shoestring budget. For real. One penny. But honestly, there are things we can do to change the World that don’t cost even that much. Like a sincere smile, for example. Or saying “Hi” to another human. Perhaps complementing somebody on something worth noticing. That doesn’t require skills or supply. Nor does it need extra time. Just a desire.
By doing that, I am changing myself. One step at a time. And the World around me will catch my mood eventually.
So, how much does it cost and how much is it worth? Can you share one penny worth of good vibes today? Think about it.
Thanks for stopping by.
